Ter Stegen will miss the rest of 2023 due to back surgery. — AFPFC Barcelona’s first-choice goalkeeper Marc-Andre Ter Stegen is set to undergo back surgery which will keep him out for two to three months, reported Spanish news outlet Cope on Tuesday.Stegen, 31, has been Barca’s first-choice goalkeeper across competitions since 2016 and has won many titles with the club. The player’s absence would be a big miss as he is the team’s captain. “First team player Marc ter Stegen will undergo a surgical procedure this week to address the lower back issues he is experiencing. Following the procedure, a new statement will be given,” Barca said in a brief statement. The player also confirmed that after various conversations with the experts, he decided to undergo surgery which he believed was the right and safe decision.“After intensive conversations with the medical team of the Club and various supporting experts, we decided to undergo a surgical procedure. The break obviously annoys me. It is the right and safe decision in order to come back in the best conditions for my Club @FCBarcelona and National Team @DFB_Team,” Stegen wrote on X, formerly Twitter. The 31-year-old got injured during the international break with Germany in November and has missed three crucial matches in the league and one in the UEFA Champions League.Xavi used Inaki Pena in Stegen’s absence and the 24-year-old filled the gap perfectly as he was one of the biggest reasons why the Blaugrana secured a crucial 1-0 win against Atletico Madrid on the weekend.Barca also trust the Spaniard and has no intention to sign a goalkeeper in January.Ronald Araujo will wear the captain’s armband in Stegen’s absence as the defender is considered one of the most important players on the field and personalities in the dressing room.It is worth mentioning that this will not be the first time Stegen will undergo surgery. In 2020/21, the German underwent right knee surgery which kept him out for almost four months. Comments Submit مضمون کا ماخذ:raspadinha resultados
